General Overview		For Erskin Mon life is a series of goals and objectives. He sets his mind to a task and he will accomplish it. Incredibly driven and self-confident, he can come across as arrogant, impatient, and stubborn. His entire life was centered on being joined to a symbiont and experiencing the wonders of the joining. He was incredibly dismayed to be joined to a symbiont who had never been joined.

Ambitions		Through his entire life his primary goal was to be joined to a symbiont, a goal that he had accomplished. He was incredibly challenged and dismayed to learn that he would be bonded to a hatchling that had never been joined previously. He has since set his sights on moving through the ranks in Starfleet.

Personal History		Born on Minos Korva to an Academic Father and a Legislative Mother, Erskin Mothma is an only child who knew from a young age that he wanted to be joined to a Trill Symbiont when he came of age. This drive caused frequent strife with his parents, both of which had chosen not to pursue being joined and did not understand his determination. He was shy and quiet as a child, but focused his efforts on his goal and used this to pull himself out of the reclusive nature he had been born into. This was, however, all for show as deep down he had not changed. He knew that he would never be considered for joining should he have chosen to remain an introvert. After pestering, his parents agreed to relocate from Minos Korva to Trill as Erskin approached young adulthood. This was challenging for the family as his parents were firmly established on Minos Korva and led to frequent fights among the family members. His parents eventually divorced with his mother returning to political life and his father finding work as a civilian instructor at the Starfleet Academy Annex on Trill. Upon graduation from his schooling, Erskin applied to the Trill Symbiosis Commission for joining and was subsequently refused by his Field Docent, Arjin Duta, out of concern that he had not given enough consideration to the wants and needs of the symbiont. At the urging of his father, Erskin enrolled in the Trill Annex of Starfleet Academy with a focus on the Operations Track. While he succeeded academically, his personal successes were few and far between. He had few friends at the Academy and this started to impact his relationship with his father as well. He lost his support system entirely when his father was killed while serving as an escort on Erskin's midshipman cruise aboard the Starship Gorkon. He almost withdrew from Starfleet Academy, but resolved himself to graduate in honor of his father. He graduated with honors and reapplied to the Trill Symbiosis Commission for joining after graduation. His initial rejection haunted him during the program, but he persevered through and met each challenge head on. Challenging perceptions and preconceived notions, Erskin was able to overcome and was approved for joining at the recommendation of his prior Field Docent, Arjin Duta. It was decided that he would be joined with the recently born Symbiont: Mon; nonetheless, this joining challenged him personally as he had hoped to be bonded with one of the more tenured Symbionts. His challenge of the Commission's decision almost led to his losing out on being joined, and he agreed to be bonded with Mon over risk of not being joined at all. Upon the joining he spent time on Trill learning his place and what it meant to be bonded with a hatchling. After his sabbatical, Mon chose to return to Starfleet - with Mon's blessing; however, the two do come to odds at times due to their mutual inexperience.
