Mission: The Search
Location: Various

Previously on Star Trek Ermiana:

Felicie had gotten out of the turbolift between decks and saw that she was on Deck 10 when the call had been made that they had boarders. What little she knew about the Maquis was that they were raiders, which meant that they would probably be heading for her carefully inventoried supplies. She made her way to the central core of the Saucer section and took the Stairs down towards Deck 12, jumping as gingerly as she could from the mid-deck down to the deck below due to her aching head.

While she herself had been adept at martial arts as she found it relaxing, it was a totally different matter at hand when it was something to save oneself than it was to go on the offensive. She knew that this was the time, more than ever, that she would be put to the test. She just hoped that her crew could hold out against the boarders and that there was minimal damage.

Her husband was less so inclined with weapons, and both of them were well trained with a phaser when it came down to it. She stopped at the armory on Deck 11 as they were handing out weapons to those that needed them.

She palmed the smaller phaser and tucked it into her pocket, and then took the larger hand held phaser and checked them out before giving her thanks to the security officer and then made her way back to the central staircase to get to her Sickbay to see what damage she came across.

And now the continuation...

Jefferies Tube

Pete Carter was in a Jeffery's tube when all hell broke loose. He bashed his head into a piece of conduit when he heard the emergency klaxon, after a few minutes of shaking the cobwebs loose he made his way back to Main Engineering. "Bloody hell." He said to himself as he ducked in the back way. Pete came around the corner a phaser in either hand putting down two boarders. "Keep them away from the core!!" Pete called out ducking fire. =A= Engineering to Bridge ... Send Security or Marines to Main Engineering on the double. We have our hands full down here! =A=

"Security teams are on their way," Misaka replied to her Chief Engineer. She had moved to the primary security/tactical station that was embedded into the 'horseshoe' that ran around the back of the command chairs. This used to be her station on the Venture before she went into Command, so she knew it all too well.

"Bridge to Commander Lurath. Please respond!" Misaka said as she attempted to locate her Chief of Security.

"Ok, I've had enough of this." Misaka said. She turned to Eila. "Take a security team and find Commander Lurath."

Eila nodded without a word before turning and heading towards the turbolift, tapping her combadge:

"Juutilainen to Security; have a team meet me on the way to the security complex; we're going to be launching a search and rescue operation." Eila ordered.

[Elsewhere]

Phaser fights erupted all over the Ermiana as Maquis boarded and began to move their way through the maze of corridors and rooms. The Maquis were armed with Starfleet style phasers and a mixture of other weapons varying from Klingon Diruptors to Cardassian and Bajoran rifles.

[Deck 4 - Cargo Bays 1 & 2]

"Take everything you can!" one of the Maquis shouted loudly as he began to place transporter tags on various boxes and crates of cargo. Within seconds of of the tags being placed, the item was instantly beamed away. For now the security on the Ermiana had yet to reach this cargo bay and the Maquis were making easy work of heisting everything they could get their hands on.

The three Operations officers had been shot, knocked out cold by the Maquis weapons and were now laid by the door of the cargo bay. "Neil!"

The Maquis known as Neil looked up, he seemed to be the group leader. "What?"

"This cargo container has emergency rations. Should we take those too?" the woman asked as she hesitated to place the transporter tag on the crate. Neil walked over and took her hand, then simply slapped the tag onto the side of the crate. "They'll be fine Nell. They have replicators, and we need these supplies if we're going to survive!"

Nell seemed a little unsure as she watched the crates of emergency rations and supplies disappear. "Don't go soft on me, we need this stuff. We have the Bismarck now. If more Federation starships come we can achieve more raids like this and make sure we have enough to beat those spoon-heads!"

"I guess you're right..." Nell said as she began to add more transporter tags to various cargo containers.

[Deck 3 - Guest Quarters]

It didn't take long for the Maquis to make their way to the guest quarters. Their informant had stated that their target was staying in one of the guest VIP quarters in this part of the ship. "He should be in one of these rooms!" the lead Maquis said as he rounded the corner. It soon became very evident which quarters he was in by the two security guard standing outside the door. Both of them drew their weapons in order to defend the entrance.

After a quick exchange of phaser fire, both security guards fell to the deck and the Maquis boarding party rushed forward and burst through the doors. The room was spacious and luxurious. There sat on the couch lining the windows was their target they had come for. Gul Jalak Rin sat there with a glass of Kanar in his hand, sipping it as the Maquis burst through the door.

He didn't flinch as they raised their weapons and pointed them at him. "I wasn't aware that I was due to recieve visitors today." he took a sip of his drink and gave them a smirk. "What do I owe the pleasure?"

"You're coming with us!" the main Maquis stated simply as he shook his phaser rifle slightly.

"I gather you are some of those Federation rebels. What use do you have for a Cardassian like me?" Gul Jalak Rin asked smugly once again taking a sip of his drink.

"Thats not for me to say. Or for your stupid face to understand! Now get up!"

Jalak Rin remained sitting in his spot. He knew that Starfleet security would be well on their way to his position by now. All he had to do was to stall the Maquis a little longer and this would soon be over. "I'm afraid that I have no... desire... to go anywhere." he told them all. "Plus, I don't think even you would have the... audacity to shoot an unarmed man."

"You're no man!" The Maquis spat at him. "You're just another spoon-head who loves to see others suffer. You took our homes, killed our people and now sit here on a Federation Ship helping them hunt us!"

Jalek Rin smiled at the man. "On the contrary. I was requested to be here to stop our ships from destroying that Starfleet Starship to stole. Apparently, Starfleet doesn't want to shed blood over the topic. If I was on a Cardassian Warship things would be so very different."

One of the woman leaned in. "We don't have time for this..." she said simply.

"You're right." Jalak Rin said as he went to stand up, "Now if you'll excuse me. I think its time I handed you over to security. They should be arriving any moment."

"Yeah, thats not happening!"

To Jalek Rin's surprise a phaser bolt hit him square in the chest sending him flying backward on the couch and rendering him unconscious.

At that moment, security arrived at the quest quarters only to see the Maquis and Jalek Rin being beamed out in a haze of blue and white lines and dots.

"Security to Captain Misaka."

[Bridge]

"Misaka here," Mikoto replied.

"Captain, the Maquis in the guest quarters have just beamed out. They've taken our Cardassian Guest as well." the voice of the security officer reported. The sudden realisation of what the Maquis actually wanted came to light. They weren't here for the ship, there was no way they could take a Galaxy Class Vessel and hold onto it. But if they used that as a distraction they could take anything and anyone they wanted whilst they were defenceless.

"This was their plan all along..." she said as she rose from her command chair and took a step towards the viewscreen which still showed the USS Bismarck facing them.

"Captain. Sensors are reading that the Bismarck is powering engines. So are the Maquis fighters," the officer who had taken over Tactical reported.

"Do we have weapons back?"

The officer shook his head.

The Ermiana shook violently as several phaser shots from the Bismarck and maquis Fighters struck her nacelles and impulse engines. They then jumped to warp leaving the Ermiana behind. The once glowing red engines of the Ermiana begin to flutter and then failed. The ship began to drift, starting to list to port now at the mercy of the Badlands.
