Mission: Preparations
Location: Bridge

The loading of the armaments was complete, it had taken just over three days to securely and safely load them into the Ermiana's cargo bays. Finally, it was time to leave starbase 375 and set course for Deep Space Nine.

Captain Misaka walked out of her ready room, entering the bridge with a confident stride. "Commander, are all of the armaments secured on board?" She asked referring the question to her first officer.

"As secure as they can be, Captain." Eila responded.

"Good." Misaka replied. She then turned to Lurath. "Keep your eyes peeled for anything along our route to Deep Space Nine. We'll be cutting awfully close to the Cardassian Border. No doubt they'll have their eyes on us the moment we get close."

Lurath tapped on the console to double check the state of the weapons and shields. In the event they were caught off guard, he wanted to make sure he was quick to raise shields and weapons when ordered. "Yes course, Captain." He replied firmly.

"Helm, set a course for Deep Space Nine. Keep us on our side of the border, engage at warp six." Misaka ordered.

Vida turned to face the Captain. The half human and half Orion nodded her head before turning back around to face the console. "Setting Course for DS9, Captain." She said with an affirming tone as he began to tap on the console to set the course. "Warp six." She added. Just before she tapped the final button, to engage the nacelles and begin their course, she whispered softly. "Sāikō." (Let's Go.) As she hit the button to engage.

Sitting quietly at the Operations Console, Lieutenant Erskin Mon watched the energy readouts and power allocations that were being displayed on his screen. Being an Ops Officer was an odd role at times, especially as you were expected to essentially be acquainted with every function aboard the ship but a master of none of them. Still, he took his role seriously because he knew he'd have to keep a firm eye on energy levels if the Ermiana encountered hostiles.

Misaka turned Eila, leaning over slightly. "I heard there are some concerns being expressed by the crew about this little delivery run we've been assigned with. Care to elaborate a little?"

Eila sighed. With the Ermiana's current lack of a counselor, Eila had been pulling double duty, and had heard all sorts of concerns from department heads all the way down to lower deckers.

"The common sentiment is that we're undertaking this mission completely unescorted." She explained. "I've heard opinions on this matter ranging from stupid to suicidal."

"I can understand why." Misaka said. "But Starfleet wants one big shipment to get them there all at once. Apparently the plan was to originally send multiple ships, however there was more chance of Changeling infiltration."

"Changeling infiltration?" Eila reeled back. "Excuse my Finnish, but that's what caused Starfleet's balls to shrivel up?"

Lurath rolled his eyes at the comment. This was their Executive Officer. The Changeling's were a threat, but one who had weaknesses. Their capability to deceive everyone, to infiltrate and spread chaos, was their only strength. They were not infallible. Starfleet was capable of discovering a means to figure out when a Changeling was in their midst. Deep Space Nine, the very station they were delivering weapons to, had a Changeling that, according to reports, was more than willing to assist in that matter. For the moment, that threat which seemed to make the XO shrivel up, was something that could be handled with cunning and observation.

"The more threats Starfleet seems to think are right around the corner, the more it shows we have developed more enemies than allies." Lurath said plainly, mumbling slightly. "We spend all this time, trying to help others from all these threats, when all we do is end up putting a target on ourselves. You can't go around policing the galaxy and expect to come out without a scratch. Klingon's learned that lesson, and now, it is the Federation's turn. Say hello to the consequence of your actions."

"Enough of that," Misaka said firmly. "We have a mission to complete and you're to put your personal feelings aside. I need everyone at their best, including the both of you." She told them. "The Dominion destroyed the Starship Odyssey and the Changelings are confirmed to be the ones leading the Dominion. The fact that they can shape-shift into anyone or anything is a threat to our security. You should remember that." She pushed herself up out of the chair.

"So, let's stay alert, stay vigilant and get this transport mission over and done with." She said. "Got that?"

"Yes, sir." Eila nodded.

Lurath did not respond. The only thing running through his mind was an old Klingon adage he learned from his father. Once the enemy knows you fear them, the battle is already lost. A brave Klingon shows no fear and bravery in the face of an adversary. Every enemy can be defeated. The greatest of warrior will always find a way of... he makes one. Remembering that, while also hearing it in his father's words, brought a small smile to his face.

"Good." Misaka said as she pushed herself up out of her chair. "Keep to our course and maintain speed." She told them. "I'll be in my ready room. Commander the bridge is yours." With that said she moved over towards the ready room doors and disappeared inside.

"Aye, sir." Eila responded, remaining in her chair despite being handed control of the bridge.

Kenneth Hunt had been standing in the back of bridge simply observing the whole ordeal which just took place. The second officer made an excellent point his opinion. A few years ago the Borg popped up in Federation space. During this time, he was a Cadet in the Academy. Now the Dominion was a threat on the other side of the wormhole. The smart thing would be to destroy the damn thing closing them off from the Alpha Quadrant. If not Starfleet could at least dedicate an entire posted extremely close to counter anything coming out of that thing.

[Sickbay]

Down in Sickbay, Feeva Drylo was pacing about nervously. She'd gotten the word that Breeze had been reassigned. Meaning she was the defacto CMO now. Fantastic. Starfleet have lost their minds! A tiny redheaded Vissian in charge of an ENTIRE sickbay. The NERVE!! She'd go see the Captain right now! Resign!! But as she stepped towards the desk to call her, a painting her daughter had done caught her eye. She stopped a moment. She sighed deeply. What kind of example would it be if she gave up now? She was trained, she was SMART. She was just letting her nerves and self-esteem problems win. That wouldn't do. She set her steaming cup of tea down, and turned around.

"Alright, everyone. We launch in a few minutes. Nurse Okawa, I need you to ensure that the Auxiliary sickbay is prepped at all times. You, and you,"-she said, pointing to two young petty officers standing nearby. "Please finalize our lists of supplies. Anything we need to refill, I can do at DS9. I know we're missing Breeze, but she's off to a better place," the Vissian began. "I promise to do my best to fill her shoes," she said. "Also...someone find me a stool!" She said. The Lilliputian woman would need it. At least she had her mom voice and the spite of a thousand year's of oppression of her gender on Vissia to get through what physical size would lack.

[Engineering]

Ensign Wendy Marvell stood at the 'pool table' that was the center hub of Main Engineering. Since the departure of their chief engineer it had been rather quiet down in Engineering. They were working without a department head, yet they still continued onwards regardless. The young Ensign looked over the readings of the warp drive and smiled, everything was going smoothly. At least, for now it was.
